From India point of view - this changes nothing. As a matter of fact Benazir was expectd to be the change, with her out of this game the edgy status quo continues.
It is said that Pakistan is a trilpe A (AAA) country - Army, Allah, & America. Its starnge that the Benazir's demice is blamed and claimed by Allah factor, benefits Army, puts a big hole in American policy.
As i changes this will put Musharraf in an indespensible situtaion again. The Riots will be allowed to continue till the urban middle class becomes tired - and at that point Mushy will emerge as savior again. As for US, Mush is their last remaining hope, who cannot be alienated.
The only possibility is that of Nawaz Sharif doing a summersault and upseting the game. There is a remote opportunity for sharif to become the savior himself, ride on the bpublic sympathy as an Anthony to the dead Ceaser Benzir. If he can add elements of Attaturk Kamal Pasha, then he also garners enough western support to fight off powerful military. nawaz Sharif can change destiny of his nation,people and the of world. He is sitting on an opportunity of becoming great - but he looks like a person who would rather let it slip away.
