A Civil War In Making

India : A civil war in making

Outrageous, may be – but isn’t this a future we are heading to?

Rather isn’t this the present we already live in ? Have you heard about Naxals taking control of more than 143 Districts spread in 6 states ????

But this war is nothing like a war – the guys who are fighting it out are mostly illiterates who cant plan or execute an operation of any significance because they lack-
1. Knowledge
2. Resources to do so…

But who are Naxals in the first place – they are guys for whom the democratic setup of Indian Union has proved to be the most autocratic regime they can think of – almost colonial in attitude! These are poor villagers that took up arms against anything that belongs to government…

The discontent in Urban Areas

For 60 years government of India has successfully faltered on all human development indicies – Health, Edcation, Urban Policing, Law & Order … you name – they didn’t do it.

Politicians in India have repeatedly made an issue out of every emotion that they found exploitable – Religion, Caste, Language, Region – You name it – if they can profile you, they will use you.

This racist attitude is nowhere more apparent than in the reservation to scheduled casts/tribes and other backward casts.

The latest proposal is to extend this reservation into all jobs – private or public. Which means its not ones ability to qualify and grow in life but one’s birth race that will decide one is employed or not.

This is nothing less than an apartheid that to against the effluent, well educated middle class that is knowledgeable and is resourceful.

What if these guys – us – refuse to accept the vote bank politics of the leaders and choose to take up arms?

We are connected – understand technology better than most government agencies and we have foot soldiers in Naxals, our peers in US have money to support the cause… can the state defend against us?

The answer is no – since army may itself be divided - the state will try to pitch uneducated / unorganized youth from privileged races against us. Viola we have a civil war.

I can see this as a distinct possibility in near future – the only ingredient lacking is a charismatic leader to promise and seem capable to deliver.

May India win !
