Uttar Pradesh - new East Pakistan

Uttar Pradesh is the only state where nearly half the districts — 34 out of 70 — have been declared sensitive because of hyper ISI activities. Needless to say, these activities make the entire state highly vulnerable to terror attacks. If you consider these statistics to be alarming, there is something more: This list has not been revised since 2003. In 1998, 22 districts were put on the ISI-sensitive list on the basis of intelligence inputs. Twelve more were added in 2003. Call it a lack of political will or fear of losing the Muslim votes, the list has not been revised. In other words, no new district has been added to the existing list of 34 districts during the present three-year tenure of Mulayam Singh Yadav.
