Naxals are not terrorists; they are not ‘trained jihadies’ with lots of gun and money out of neighboring country.
So who are they?
They are poor people desperately fighting for a right to life. Their fight is against nobody but for their own survival. No one cares to answer why people in kalahandi die out of hunger when food stocks are flooded- but they do question when individuals take up arms to get that food. The plight of naxals is failure of governance. The naxals in liberated areas train people on farming, fishing – building self sustaining society – they run micro credit banks.
Hey that’s what we are promised in Union budget on every 1st of March. Huge amounts of funds that go in drain. We need to figure out soon or this will turn into a battle of poor against rich – of rural vs urban. A war that would be disastrous. may be
