well communism in its very core is anti-liberal.
marxism the most liberal form of communism has always talked about centralisation - consolidation at cost of freedom of expression.
the idea of socialism is attainable through communism. Communism gives enormous powers in the hand of indivisual ( at least the russian-cuban-north korean version of it), who in turn are always corrupted.
