BJP is in dis array. Not a big news at all. Everybody interested in politics ( there is no dearth of such people in world's largest democracy) knows that. How ever what saddens me as a one time sympathasiser of the party is that it does not seem to be making any moves to get out of it. Agreed that the loss in last year's general elections was a big blow, and it was all the more painful as the difference between itself and Congress was not huge. But instead of introspection, planning for the next general elections, it seems to be totaly clueless. And instead of capitalising on the miseries of Congress arising out of the coalition politics, it has time and again just conceded points to the same. It is not that Congress has behaved in some praise worthy fashion, but I must say it seems to be in a better shape than BJP. And in the murky world of politics where the party with a difference has lost its difference completely, I have to grudingly concede that I might vote Congress in the next elections if BJP does not shape up or some other alternative does not come up. How ever BJP should try to reform itself a la Phoenix not just for itself but also for Indian Masses as the small merciful changes we see in Congress like it running a coalition government are in big way due to it being out of power courtsey BJP. Democracy is a sytem of checks and balances and a strong opposition party is the cornerstone of the system.
